What You’ll Need
Building a tuck point brick wall can be a daunting task. It’s not something that can be done in a day – it takes time and planning. But if you’re willing to put in the effort, it’s definitely worth it! We will outline the materials you’ll need to get started, as well as some tips on how to build your wall. Let’s get started!
The first thing you’ll need is the right tools. You’ll definitely need a hammer, a chisel, and a trowel. A level is also helpful for making sure your wall is straight.
Next, you’ll need to gather the bricks. Make sure to buy good quality bricks – they will last longer and look better in the end.
Once you have all of your materials, it’s time to get started! The first step is to lay out your bricks in a row, making sure that they are all facing the same way. Next, use your hammer and chisel to break away the excess brick around the edges of each brick.
Now it’s time to start building! Place one brick on top of the other, using mortar between each layer of bricks. You may need to use a trowel or a level to help you make sure your wall is even as it goes up.
Once you’ve finished building, all that’s left is grouting! Use water and cement mix with sand for best results. After letting the mortar dry completely (this could take several days!), it’s time to apply sealant over the entire brick surface so that no moisture can get through into your home. If desired, paint finishing touches on top like windowsills doorsills etc…
